Knowledge Management System:

According to Alavi and Leidner(2001), Knowledge Management System is the knowledge based information system that support the Knowledge creation, storing and sharing in an organisation or else where and sharing knowledge to employees and managers throughout a company. Alavi and Leidner (2001)

In my view for an organisation to be success in sharing or mastering KM they need to use the best technology available. Using technology for KM they can share they information with they collogues or they customers or clients in a better mean .

For Example:1) In Customer service centres when they receive any call from customers, they use the technology available to them(Computer) and search for data(Solution) available. If they find any information that is suitable resolves the customer problem they immediately pass this on to them. By this way employees from customer service centre can use the technology(Database, computer or phone) to share the knowledge stored in they systems.

How Does a Knowledge Management System Work?

(The University of Lowa, 12/10/2008)

When I first landed in London for the first time , I was guided by the TV and monitors to the exit. It was very helpful for me at that time which passed some sort of information(Knowledge) through the electronic devices.

  1. Hello Leela

This presently is currently a draft right? I think you will need to have more Knowledge Management System theory in this post. (I am sure there are dedicated "theorist's" in this topic area. With your example of Customer Service Center (CSC), can you go a bit deep in...?

With your current structure, I think you will need to bear in mind Aboubakr Criteria's for the coursework.

Also, another thing is references... I think this still needs to be improved?.. You can learn & adapt to this by referring to good example (from Aboubakr Xplore Site) style. For example, the image you have displayed - did you create the image? If not, then reference correctly?...

    Good luck. :)

  2. Hello Leela.... nice to see u make early start...

I agree with the A-Team comment above (man-chi)....

1 – you need to start giving credit to the author you reference from...

2 – use Harvard reference format in your reference list (see me on Monday)

3 – you need to do more reading... to understands KM systems better.. do more theory research and reference from scholars that have more authority on the subject matter...!

Plus I disagree with your ideas that KM system is all IT based... couldn’t it be also without IT..?

    More room for improvements...

  3. Hi Ravi,

I never said in my texts that KM is all about IT. But these days many corporate companies use better use of technologies(IT) they have to manage they knowledge in better way.

Hope full I have given you the information you need.

    Thanks

  4. Hello Leela,

I think this may need a bit more literature to make the weighting bit more heavy?..

Your example you provided above about the arrival to london, is that not information which is a sign of 'guidance' rather than knowledge?... I'm not sure, but this is my insight that you have only foreseen this once?..

Please refer to Aboubakr referencing style from my initial first comment in this post.
